The rules for using Waylight as a private self-help tool for Medicaid and home-care program navigation.
What Waylight is
Waylight is a free self-help tool operated by Hypercowboy LLC DBA Waylight for families navigating Medicaid and home-care programs. It explains processes, tracks dates you confirm, helps you prepare documents you review yourself, and points to official and community resources.
What Waylight is not — and never does
- Not a government agency. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the State of Indiana, FSSA, Medicaid, or any government body. Official forms are free directly from FSSA, and using Waylight is optional.
- Not a decision-maker. Only DFR decides Medicaid eligibility; only FSSA and its contractors decide level of care. Waylight never determines, predicts, or guarantees eligibility, benefits, timing, or payment amounts.
- Not a law firm, tax advisor, or financial advisor. Waylight is self-help software. Its content and AI answers are general process information, not legal, tax, or financial advice, and no attorney-client or advisor relationship is created. For decisions that depend on your specific facts — assets, trusts, appeals strategy, taxes — consult the qualified professionals Waylight points to.
- Not a submitter or representative. Waylight never submits applications, contacts agencies about your case, or acts as an authorized representative. You review, sign, and submit everything yourself through official channels.
Your part
You confirm every deadline against the letter in your hand before relying on it (Waylight marks extracted dates unconfirmed until you do). You review every answer placed on a form and attest that it is true and complete before using a prepared document. You keep your account contact information current.
AI features
AI answers and letter readings are labeled as AI-generated, grounded in Waylight's own content, and can be wrong — the original letter and the office always win. AI features route certain topics (for example asset planning) to professionals instead of answering; that is by design.
Accounts and deletion
Passwordless sign-in; you're responsible for access to your email/phone. Delete your account any time (Settings, or askwaylight.com/delete-account); deletion is complete and governed by the Privacy Policy's retention schedule.
Text messages
Text messages are optional. By entering your phone number and requesting a code, or by turning on text reminders, you agree to receive the requested Waylight SMS messages. Messages may include one-time verification codes and generic app reminders. Consent to SMS is not required to use Waylight; email sign-in is also available. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Acceptable use
Don't use Waylight to misrepresent facts to any agency, to harm others, or to probe/abuse the service. Waylight may refuse or end service for abuse.
Disclaimers and liability
Waylight is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waylight disclaims warranties and limits liability to the amount you paid for the service (zero — it's free). Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it.
Governing law, changes, contact
